What is chino's reaction to Nazario?
ReplyDeleteIn chapter 8, that's when Chino first met Nazario. Chino has see Nazario before but he has never talked to him, its like one of those people you see everyday but you don't really know them, you know what I mean? Anyways when Chino realized that Nazario was that guy he would see in the block, he recalled him as a educated man with pride and poise , but you can tell that he was kind of disappointed that a well educated man with a good reputation could have something to do with a drug dealer like Bodega.You can see how Chino actually described/recalled Nazario on page 70 where it says," And that's when I first met Nazario, or better yet, when i realized who he was...He was a tall confident man in his forties...Nazario, with his clean-shaven face and the good looks of someone who never in his life ever has been in a street fight, went around spreading favors for Bodega." This shows that Chino remmebered him as a good educated man he was a good cover up for a man like Bodega. Nazario was a good honest man who had a good reputation on the block, someone that no one could suspect that could make a deal with a drug dealer like Bodega. So in the end when Chino first remmebered Nazario he thought of him as a good person but after finding out that he had deals Bodega he was a little disappointed.

reporter . Why would Nazario and bodega mention a News reporter ? Chino heard "Tell you're cuz Chino is here , Sapo said oh man wait , like , Nazario is with him , they been talking for a long time , bout what don't know they keep mentioning this guy Alberto Salazar ."I believe Alberto had some important information that could not be shared so Bodega and Nazario had some type of plot . They wanted to get rid of Alberto because he probably had some important information that can be a problem to bodega and Nazario . So Bodega and Nazario probably made a plot to assassinate Alberto but the reason I say this is because you don't kill anybody for nothing .Probably Alberto had some important information that can damage maybe what Bodega and Nazario are planning which could be something big because it caused Alberto's
life . So that's why they were mentioning Alberto Salazar .

Use proper punctuation -- question marks when you ask a question! Don't use a space before a punctuation mark. Give more context before the quote to explain what's happening in the story as if your reader is not familiar with the novel. Capitalize all proper nouns (names). 7/10

ReplyDeleteChino is asking sapo does questions because his trying to help his wife Blanca. One quote I choose is "sapo do you know anyone who's hard up to get married?" Girls plenty.guys.none"why you ask" chino said,because Blanca is trying to get some a girl a green card." This shows how chino really care about his wife because it's showing how his trying to help her by getting in her Buisness and trying to be the good person even tho they be having there ups and down. Plus Blanca dosent wen know his asking his friends for help about that ,because she probably though that he wasn't t going to do that so that's why she just mention it to him.

ReplyDeleteAlberto Salazar was a bussiness man and he was not collaborating with Nazario nor Bodega because he was not interested in working with them. In the story right now Sapo and Chino are on their way to one of Bodega's apartment. When they got there Nene told Chino and Sapo that Bodega was talking with Nazarion and that they were talking about something serious. A little while after that, Bodega and Nazario went to talk/meet Chino and Sapo. When they stepped outside they were talking about so guy named Alberto Salazar. 'Idon't know Sapo. I just know it's bad. There's somethin' happenin' here, what it is ain't exactly clear.' Just then Bodega and Nazario stepped into the living room...'And he didn't take the money?' Bodega was asking Nazario. 'No, he looks like a good man. Just doing his job. I don't know Willie, this could be bad.' (Quiñonez 70-71). This quote demonstrates that something is going on with the guy named Alberto Salazar.
Make an inference about what is going on with Salazar and explain how the quote you chose supports your inference in more than one sentence. Otherwise, good explanation of context to introduce the quote. 8/10

ReplyDeleteIn Bodega Dreams by Ernesto Quinonez Blanca wanted to name her child Deborah because the name is holy and it was her sister's name. Blanca is religious and loves her sister and that's why she wanted to name her child Deborah. In the text it says "I want something biblical, like my sister's name Deborah." This quote shows Blanca is religious and loves her sister.
